What is

synthcon?

SynthCon is a debate conference constituting four major committees and IP, with the first offline conference scheduled on  25th and 26th April and online on 2nd and 3rd May, 2026. We are situated in Nashik, Maharashtra, India.

At our core, we believe in never-ending innovation and constant change. Our committees reflect this. For instance, WAST tackles the growing instability in south-eastern countries such as Nepal and Bangladesh, GALC addresses the growing AI sector and the leal complications that arise with the entry of new, highly-intelligent beings, etc. Accordingly, Mahabharat is the first of its kind in Nashik and NPEC is new take on the classic AIPPM. Likewise, we are the first non-intitutional hybrid debate conference in Nashik, hosting both offline and online committees. Through our online sessions we aim to lift the geographical restrictions posed by our offline session, therein catering to a pan-Indian audience.

"When I coined the word SynthCon, I intended it to reflect my vision of fresh ideas with directed implementation. This is particularly accentuated by the name itself: 'Synth' expands to form Synthesis, as in synthesis of new ideas, and 'Con' is just an abbreviation for Conference. Together, they form a conference for new ideas to cultivate: SynthCon.

"My other projects include my debut novel, The Forest Saint (now available on Amazon and Flipkart), recounting a fictional epic imbued with political drama, philosophical turmoils, and an exploration of time as a character.

Apurv S. Desale

I am a professional elocution participant and winner, with a strong passion for space and astronomy. I have been recognised as a winner in the NSS Space Settlement Contest, an international competition challenging students to design sustainable settlements beyond Earth. I also actively engage in debating conferences, which have strengthened my skills in structured discussion, diplomacy, and critical thinking. These experiences allow me to communicate complex ideas effectively

Through SynthCon, I aim to implement and provide a stage to such ideas.

I envision SynthCon as a platform where young minds are trained to think through experience rather than instruction. I have attended MUNs across diverse MUN circuits and from that experience I have gained knowledge worth sharing with avid debaters and MUNers. SynthCon is not just yet another debate club or MUN; it is a platform designed to leave a lasting impact, irrespective of one's level of experience.

On a personal front, I draw inspiration from the sayings of Saint Kabirdas and writings of Rashtrakavi Ramdhari Singh "Dinkar". I love studying different philosophies and darshanas to keep evolving my approach to critical thinking, discourse and leadership.
